GP Property Developments Ltd was formed in 2005 by husband and wife team Mike & Paula Davies, initially to service General Practitioners (Hence the GP in the name).


The business model’s structure spawned from an idea that came about from Paula’s frustrations experienced during her 20 years as a Practice Manager in seeking out honest, reliable and competent tradesmen who could actually deliver an acceptable and satisfactory end product when promised.


Coupled with this frustration was Mike’s desire for a career shift, and the result was

GP Property Developments Ltd.  Having spent 18 years as a Builder’s Merchant Manager for the ‘multi-nationals’ in a fiercely competitive industry, Mike understands the need to be the best at customer service.


He says; ‘’When providing a turn-key service that involves at least 7 or 8 different trades, regardless of whether the project is an extension, refurbishment, conversion or just a single room upgrade, the key to a successful outcome is first and foremost having the right calibre of tradesmen.  Appropriate qualifications are naturally extremely important but there’s much more to it than this.  I personally ensure our contractors not only understand but empathise totally with your day to day operation.   Positive attitudes toward security, safety and good teamwork all feature high on the list of qualifications when considering anyone for recruitment.  I am confident that we do possess all of the above qualities as a team and this is one of the things that set us aside from our competition. Having established the right people, the 2nd most important element is in the strategic planning, organising and application of the labour force.  Yes, overall cost is very important but equally so, is how the project is put together and ultimately executed. If things are planned correctly, the delivery should be virtually seamless, on budget and completed on time. The reverse doesn’t bear thinking about but often happens with your average builder’’.


His philosophy is never to make a promise you can’t keep!  


This successful formula has become GP Property’s trademark and has contributed to the company’s continued growth mainly through word of mouth, and which has seen a steady incline over recent years including through one of the worst recessions the UK has ever experienced.  It didn’t take very long for GP Property’s services to extend very quickly in 2006 into Dental Practices and in fact the Dental and General Practice client-mix is now very evenly balanced.  In 2014 due to the increasing demands from the domestic market due to recommendations, GP Property now provides it services to the domestic and commerical markert alike.


Having gained such an excellent reputation for the above along with our specialist work in surgery and decontamination room upgrades, has brought about regular working partnerships with several blue-chip dental manufacturing companies and multi-international dental groups to assist them in their endeavours, as well as the Local NHS Area Teams (formerly PCT’s) Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG's) and of course the individual Practices themselves is an ever growing list taking us over new county borders every year.
